*Jay-Z Confirms His Departure From Def Jam*

Jay-Z confirms that he has exited from Def Jam Records. "I can honestly say, working with Doug Morris and LA Reid has been a unique and fulfilling experience and I respect them immensely," the rapper tells RapRadar.

"I've been in the family for almost my entire career," Jay-Z furthermore explains to the publication. "Doug and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique 'negotiations' ever. Doug won the toss but, we both won in the end..."

Besides, Jay-Z also thanks Doug "for allowing [him] to be a completely independent artist." The rap mogul adds, "Not every artist can say they own or are given the opportunity to own all of their music."

Prior to his announcement in RapRadar, Jay-Z, who still owed Def Jam one last album, reportedly has bought himself out of his contract with the recording company for $5 million. While his exit from the label has been confirmed, he gives no comment on his contract buyout rumor though. His representative also declines to provide any explanation regarding the speculation.

*Nick Cannon Ends War of Words With Eminem*

After unleashing a lengthy blog rant about Eminem over the lyrics to “Bagpipes From Baghdad,” Nick Cannon says the mini feud with Slim Shady is officially over.
In a brief sit down with Entertainment Weekly, Cannon sticks by every word he wrote, even if the majority of fans on the Internet don’t agree.
"I felt like I said what I had to say," Cannon tells the publication. "I didn’t take [the post] down, like, Oh, somebody instructed me to do it or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it."
The composed Cannon sounds far different than the one who called out Eminem over disrespect to his wife, Mariah Carey, women in general, and black women in particular.
"I feel that my relationship with my wife is one of the best things -- or the best thing -- that’s ever happened to me, and it has nothing to do with celebrity or this industry. It’s all about, you know, just love and finding love and being happy and respecting the union that it is."
At the end of the day, perhaps the only people to consider the brief war of words a “beef” was the media and some fans.
"I never even considered it as beef. It’s not beef. It’s just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say."

*More Details Emerge In Dolla Murder*

According to the Assoicated Press, Aubrey Berry [click to read] the man allegedly responsible for the death of Atlanta rapper Dolla [click to read] is claiming self-defense.

Berry’s lawyer Howard Price explained to the Atlanta Journal Constitution that Berry had good reason to believe that he was in danger.

“He believed was armed,” Price explained to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “He [Berry] believed he was in danger.”

Berry and Dolla’s first altercation with one another took place at Platinum 21, a gentleman’s club in Atlanta. Berry was allegedly attacked by Dolla and his entourage at the club.

Price also revealed that Dolla and Berry being in the mall at the same time was just a matter of coincidence.

“He [Berry] was there [at P.F. Chang’s] first,” said Price. “[During the strip club incident], Mr. Berry inadvertently bumped into a woman he didn’t know. It was a stupid, silly incident that should’ve never escalated to this point.”

Berry then left P.F. Chang’s after being warned that Dolla had some ties with the Crips gang. After leaving P.F. Chang’s, Berry was allegedly approached by Dolla and two friends. Berry began shooting, hitting Dolla several times.

Berry, who faces life in prison, has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly firearm and one count of murder.

The Burton family has released the following statement via press release:

“First and foremost we, the Burton family would like to thank everyone for all their kind thoughts and prayers during these trying times,” the statement reads. “Most recently, the Burton family was made aware that there have been numerous false claims of information floating around the 'net and also reported in reputable media outlets. Part of this was due to someone who was not authorized to speak on the family's behalf and who claimed to be the publicist of record decided to disseminate false information on her own and without the consent of the family to several media outlets.

“Due to the circumstances of the situation no other information will be released at this time. We are grateful for your continued support in these trying times. We now ask everyone to allow us to mourn the loss of our beloved Roderick Anthony Burton.”

*Fat Joe Associate Calls Out DJ Khaled “He don’t do nothin’ for nobody”*

Fat Joe’s associate Pistol Pete has exposed and put DJ Khaled in the spotlight for not representin Terror Squad like he should be. Apparently Dj Khaled feels like he don’t owe nobody shit, because Fat Joe hooked him up with a record deal and Khaled hasn’t done a thing for Joe…

“Khaled was a regular deejay at Power 99,” Pistol Pete said in an interview. “And what happened? Joe came and Khaled was sweating Joe like ‘Please get me on, get me a deal, get me a record deal.’ He took him to Koch and got him a record deal and look where he’s at now. He’s the president of Def Jam. He’s another one I don’t do shit for. Khaled’s another one we supposed to put on blast. Khaled is another one, he don’t do shit for us. He gotta give up that Terror Squad chain when I see him because he don’t do a motherfucking thing for the squad. He don’t do nothin’ for nobody, he’s about himself. ‘He’s The Best.’ He moved on, he don’t even wear the TS chain no more. So he need to give that up, real talk. He don’t represent the Terror Squad like I do. I don’t give a fuck where Joe got beef at, I’ll go to the heart of the Bronx for my TS chain.”

So basically DJ Khaled needs to learn a thing or 2 on loyalty, if it wasn’t for Terror Squad then Khaled wouldn’t be screaming “We Da Best..”.

*Dawaun Parker Speaks On Working Under Dr. Dre, Relapse*

Producer Dawaun Parker has had one of the bigger weeks in his four years working at Aftermath Records with Dr. Dre. The Boston area native co-produced 14 of the 15 songs on Eminem's potentially record-breaking Relapse. Still, asked how he spent the third week of May, Parker told HipHopDX, "Working, man. I went to a couple Best Buy's to find Relapse. The first place I went to was [sold out]. That was a nice little feeling. Otherwise, man, we've been working."

Working on a production team with Dr. Dre and Mark Batson, the trio apparently follows the doctor's orders, and uses the hype of a release week to work ahead on projects in tow. "Dre's a pretty hungry guy. There's not really been too much celebration. I've been getting calls and texts and stuff from people who have been listening to the record, critiquing. That's been cool - a lot of positive feedback and support. We're in the studio man. We're working on 50 Cent, we're working on Detox. We're trying to get it done."

While Hip Hop has seen many beat luminaries come up from each other, whether it was Pharrell learning from Teddy Riley, Kanye West learning from No I.D. and D Dot, or Large Professor with Eric B, tomorrow's next hit-maker has often worked with today's superstar. Still, Parker quickly admits that collaborative production has given him his career, "[My] production has increased exponentially because of Dre's help and his tutelage and things that he's said to me. 'Try this and try this.' None of the music would have even gotten made, that I contributed to, that any of us contributed to, if Dre wasn't there."

Parker told DX that the trio rotates as far as who uses what equipment in the studio. In order to truly collaborate, the musician noted, improvisation and expertise in mixing, programming, sampling and instruments are all necessary.

With his credits coming on Jay-Z's Kingdom Come, Busta Rhymes' Big Bang and Snoop Dogg's Blue Carpet Treatment, among others, the patient Parker isn't in a rush to produce records without his team. "I know that the opportunity is there for me, when I'm ready to go aggressive and try to shine on my own." The producer says he does have solo material in progress with Bishop Lamont and 50 Cent. "The last six months or so, has been heavily Aftermath-based." Perhaps after Detox and Before I Self-Destruct, the professionally-trained producer will focus on some solo work. "When we take our next break, we'll get our next batch of things out there."

Dr. Dre has long maintained production teams, stemming from DJ Yella in the '80s, to Daz, Warren G, Sam Sneed and Mel-Man in the '90s, to his teammates today. Asked about one of the songs hinting at a new direction in Dre's sound, Jay-Z's "Trouble," Dawaun Parker spoke of one of his earliest major credits. "['Trouble' and Busta Rhymes' 'Get You Some'] and all the Jay stuff were made around that time. That was the first big period of myself, Dre, and Mark Batson. What I can remember about that session - I'm not sure I can remember the date of that beat, but I remember the day we got the reference back from Jay, and us buggin' out." He continued, "Dre was like, 'I got some of the stuff that Jay's been touchin' that we've done.' That was on there. We played it a few times in a row. That was a pretty nice moment."

Although humble, Parker said he showcased some of his trademark sounds in the loud, percussion-heavy track. "People from school and stuff, people who knew what my sound was, people knew it was Dre, but Dre's tone or sound having a different effect with the team he was with now, which was us. I hope that people enjoy all that. It's an honor."

Parker is presently at work on Detox and Before I Self-Destruct.

*Daddy Yankee Focuses "Talento" On Movies*

Daddy Yankee was the first reggaeton star to successfully bring his music into the U.S. mainstream. Now, with his new movie "Talento De Barrio," he wants to be the first reggaeton star to be a success on the big screen.

"I'm very excited about this project because a lot of people have done this before in the Anglo market, but I'm opening doors in the Latino market," the singer/rapper, whose real name is Ramon Ayala, told CBSNews.com.

Ayala produced the movie, in which he stars as Edgar Dinero, a young man who tries to hide his barrio roots from the woman he loves. The movie follows his struggles to break his ties to a violent underworld and start a new life.

Like his character, Ayala grew up in San Juan and witnessed his share of violence. He insists that the film is not biographical, although he can relate to the character he plays.

"I saw all the things [the character] goes through in the movie, basically, in my life," Ayala said. "Those are the things we go through in the barrio in Puerto Rico."

Fans are used to seeing Ayala swaggering through music videos in his Daddy Yankee persona, but he said they're going to see a new side to him in the movie.

"It's the first time that people are going to see me crying," he said. "That was a new thing for me. It was a little tough, but then I got an acting coach and I learned a couple of [things] and it worked."

One thing the fans won't get is a love scene.

"Not yet, not in this movie," laughed Ayala. "Honestly I wasn't ready. I'm a rookie as an actor. So I was trying to separate the character from my musical career, but it was a little tough at the beginning. In your first movie you've got to show the world you can act, then people are going to be focusing on you as an actor, not just as a singer."

Ayala contributed his musical skills by recording and producing the movie's soundtrack.

"We created a whole new Daddy Yankee album around the movie," he said. "So basically the movie inspired me to write a whole new album."

The album's first single, "Pose," is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.

Ayala was the first reggaeton artist to gain widespread notice on U.S. pop and urban radio when he was featured on the 2004 remix of rapper N.O.R.E.'s "Oye Mi Canto." He quickly followed that up with the hit single "Gasolina," which reached No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Since then he's been a platinum-seller worldwide, parlaying his popularity into several businesses including a clothing line, a Reebok endorsement contract, a record label and a men's fragrance set to launch in November.

"I'm involved with all my projects in all areas," he said. "I worked on the cologne from the beginning through manufacturing. Then, we took more than 100 women to start smelling the cologne and the girls approved it, so I'm pretty sure the girls will like it."

He described the fragrance as "a little citrusy, more 'island,' that represents my Caribbean sense."

Ayala also makes time to give back to his community through his foundation, Corazon Guerrero. One program gives college scholarships to inmates in juvenile detention centers. The foundation is working with an orphanage in the Dominican Republic, and it is funding the rebuilding of schools in Colombia, Bolivia and Guatemala.

Although he usually doesn't discuss his personal life in interviews, he did say that his children aren't fazed by his music or acting careers.

"They don't see me as an actor, they don't see me as an artist. They just see me as a dad," he said. "They're very proud of everything I'm doing. Daddy works a lot. They have seen me helping everybody and giving back to the community, so they're learning a lot."

"Talento De Barrio" premieres at the New York International Latino Film Festival on Wednesday, July 23, and is set to open in the United States and Puerto Rico on Aug. 14.

*Ivy Queen to Write Autobiography*

Our favorite reggaetonera, Ivy Queen, has decided it's time to tell the world about how she clawed her way to the top by writing her very own autobiography, titled Detrás del Glamour.

She tells MTV's Blogamole, "the book I want to write isn’t going to be about gossip or rumors, I want it to be about the sacrifices I have made in order to be able to claim this throne. I want the book to be motivational and about all of the things I’ve been through."

Besides documenting her rise to the top of the reggaeton scene, and becoming the only woman who has managed to do so, Ivy opens up about body image and learning to be confident with her looks. "Obviously people see me as beautiful now, but when I started in music I looked like a little boy, and I hung out with all the other boys."

In a video featured on Plies' Website, Plies explained that Goon Affiliated will be “by far the biggest album” he has ever released.

Aside from the Justice League, Plies has not yet revealed any other producers or guest appearances for his upcoming album.

*Initial Reports On T.I.'s Prison Sentence Inaccurate*

MTV News has revealed that initial reports indicating T.I. would serve only two months in prison were incorrect.
The Associated Press reported that the rapper would be given credit for 305 days of home detention. However, Charysse Alexander, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Georgia explained that the report it inaccurate.
Alexander explained that while T.I. will be given credit for his home detention, it will go towards his home confinement after he is released from prison. That is to say, after the rapper completes his prison sentence, he will have only about two months of home confinement to serve.
Alexander also indicated that the best anyone serving a year in prison could do is shave 15 percent off of the sentence for good behavior. In T.I.'s case, this would amount to nearly a 55-day reduction.

*Kanye West Makes Not-Guilty Plea In Paparazzi Case, Faces 2 Years In Prison*

Music producer and hip hop artist Kanye West, 31, who has been making headlines for his activities with girlfriend Amber Rose is back in the headlines again, but not for his relationship. Kanye West is back in the entertainment headlines for his infamous paparazzi case in which he has made a plea of not guilty. The incident occurred on last year (September 11, 2008) at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

As previously reported on HipHopRX.com, Kayne West was in an altercation with paparazzi in which a photographer made claims that Kanye West along with his road manager Don “Don C” Crowley allegedly broke a camera worth more than $10,000 which was caught on video. The two men were approached by paparazzi affiliated with celebrity gossip site TMZ while they were at the airport to catch a flight to Hawaii.

Kanye West was charged with misdemeanor vandalism, battery and grand theft, while his road manager was charged with two counts on the same charges.

If charged in the incident, Kanye West could face up to two and a half years in prison, while Don “Don C” Crowley could face up to five years in prison if convicted on the charges.

This is not the first incident in which Kayne West has been in with paparazzi. On November of ‘08, the rapper/music producer denied assaulting a photographer in an incident outside of the Tup Tup nightspot in Newcastle, England which led to the rapper getting arrested for his second paparazzi-related incident. Kanye West cited that he placed his arm up in self-defense against a thirsty photographer and put his hands up to cover his lens which unfortunately somehow resulted in the photographer getting his nose scraped during all the commotion.

The next court date has been scheduled for July 15, 2009 more than a month after Kanye West’s upcoming birthday June 8th.

*Rihanna Rumored to Record New Music With Justin Timberlake*

*Eminem Meant to Wish Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon the Best*

After being blasted by Nick Cannon for mocking Mariah Carey in "Bagpipes From Baghdad", Eminem steps out to provide his side of story. In a recent interview with Tim Westwood, the Slim Shady explained about what he really meant in the new song, saying "I meant to say I wish them the best."

Insisting that the whole idea of making a reference to Mariah and Nick is not aimed to insult the couple, Eminem noted, "I had no idea Nick Cannon was going to Wild Out on me." The rapper, however, admitted that the song's lyrics indeed are "pretty harsh."

Nick Cannon is not the only one who responds to Eminem dissing Mariah Carey. Most recently, Busta Rhymes told the Slim Shady to leave the diva alone and wished them to get along despite the feud issue.

In related news, Eminem's commercial video for his much-awaited studio album "Relapse" has been banned from being aired on TV. The ad which features him staying submerged on a blood-flooded bathtub is deemed too gory for TV viewers.

*50 Cent's New Song 'OK, You're Right' Revealed*

Still in the middle of finishing the new album, 50 Cent is expected to drop the record sometime in June. Previously, he plotted to put it out on February 3 but then moved it to March 24 before later hinting a possible May release.

In between his tight schedule of finishing the new record, he went on a tour with Fall Out Boy and made one last stop at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on April 25. Most recently, he was said to be in talks for a joint tour with Eminem this summer.

*Nicole Scherzinger says she would probably get engaged to boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton in July*

"Would I get married? For sure and, yeah ... But I have to get engaged first. Late July is looking good," Nicole Scherzinger says when she is asked to spill the beans on the future of her romance with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton. "Marriage is a seal of love. On my solo album I have sung about how much I love that and what the whole process would mean to me. Who needs a reason to seal their love?" she gushes.

Opening up about what she has in mind regarding her wedding plans, The Pussycat Dolls' lead singer expresses her willingness to have her bandmates involved in the process. "The Dolls can be the bridesmaids," she states.

Back in early November last year, Nicole Scherzinger was forced to deny false reports that she already got engaged to Lewis Hamilton, whom she began dating in May the same year. "I want some 'us' time before we do all that!" she insisted.

Most recently, Nicole said she wanted to duet with Lewis, who is an F1 racing driver. "He thinks he can sing - I think that's my fault! We will probably end up in the studio together. That will be great," she was quoted as saying.

*Yung Joc Sues Bad Boy Records, Block Entertainment*

This past weekend, Yung Joc told Billboard.com that he has made the decision to file a lawsuit against Bad Boy Records and Block Entertainment for their failure to fulfill contractual obligations, including neglecting to pay royalties and advances for his previous two albums, and charging “outrageous clearance fees” for collaborations with other artists.

“I haven't been paid any royalties since I've been out, after over a million albums sold,” Yung Joc told Billboard.com. “For my first album, they gave me a $25,000 advance when I was supposed to get more...Then I had a million dollar budget for my second album, never even got an advance off of it. For the third one they hit me with another $25,000, like I'm some chump in this shit. And I just got tired of it.”

Joc expressed his anger and disappointment over Bad Boy’s lack of support in dealing with the situation. “Diddy said he’s got to stay out of it because it’s between me and Block Entertainment. I was never signed to Block Entertainment, but they’ve been interfering with a lot of my business. I feel like [Bad Boy] isn’t doing anything to try to intervene and help the situation.”

With the upcoming release of his third album, Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood (which will feature fellow southern artists Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Bobby Valentino, and Jazze Pha), the rapper is considering promoting the project without the help of Bad Boy. “I’m not gonna let anybody slow me down. I'm just gonna go in and use some independent record promoters to promote my record.”

Plans of utilizing indie promoters may seem a daunting task after his sophomore effort, Hustlenomic$ sold only 210,000. The number is a stark contrast from the 968,000 copies that his debut album, New Joc City, sold. In any case, Yung Joc has expressed that a lawsuit against Bad Boy and Block Entertainment is necessary.

"I’m not even griping; I’m just letting it be known that what’s fair is fair, and I haven’t been treated fairly. I’ve been fighting for a year and a half. I’m prepared to weather the storm. So they could kiss my ass, and let's go to court."

Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood is slated for release in late 2009.

*T.I. To Serve Two Months For Gun Charges*

The Associated Press reports that when Clifford "T.I." Harris reports to the Forrest City low-security prison on May 26, the award-winning rapper, actor and businessman will serve what will amount to a two-month stint. Initial reports stated the "King of the South" would serve 366 days in prison for multiple weapons charges. The reduced sentence was due to a special deal which called for T.I. to remain on home confinement and complete a series of community service programs, including an MTV series.

Fellow artists such as 50 Cent and Mysonne leveled allegations of snitching and secret deals with prosecutors, which T.I. vehemently denied. Officials say T.I. will receive no preferential treatment, and he will face three years probation as well as a $100,000 fine upon his release.

"Unless there are custody or security concerns, all incoming inmates are placed in general population," said R.D. Weeks, a spokesman for the prison. If T.I. would have been convicted on all of the weapons charges he was initially charged with, he would have faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison as well as $250,000 for each charge in his three-count indictment from 2007.

Dear Editor:

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Pantalony, Esq.
Louis Vuitton Malletier

When asked who she has a girl crush on, Kim replied without any hesitation: “Jennifer Lopez.” But quizzed on who has the best celebrity butt, she insisted: “Me.” She also told how the rumor that upset her the most was that her butt is fake. Kim, who starred in a raunchy home sex video, said she is not prepared to strip off in her bid to make it as a movie star. She vowed: “No, no, no, no! I won’t”, and added her recent Playboy shoot was “really uncomfortable”.

*Nick Cannon Responds To Eminem*

It took less than 24 hours since the leak of Eminem’s highly anticipated comeback effort Relapse to generate some controversy. Nick Cannon has taken issue with Eminem’s “Bagpipes From Baghdad,” which takes shots at Cannon and his wife, singer Mariah Carey.
In a new blog posting, Cannon responds to the track saying, “I’m taking full action on you Eminem. I don’t know why no one has stood up to your bitch ass yet. But I guess it’s going to take a corny, wack rapping, boy toy from Nickelodeon to set you straight. And trust, I am going to be relentless. Even though I got a lot of other obligations and occupations, you are my new full time job ‘homey’!”
Cannon also brought up one controversial moment in Eminem’s past, referencing the freestyle in which Eminem disparaged black women.
“I asked myself should I go find this Bitch and just whoop his little ass? Let’s not forget about Eminem’s amateur mixtape rants of calling African Americans Nigger and how he hates “Black Bitches”. How did we let him get away with that in the first place?! He is a natural born racist in disguise. Someone tell this coward that he finally barked up the wrong tree.”
Cannon concludes by implying that whatever beef develops may be handled outside of a studio. “This is my invitation to you, whenever and wherever you like sir. So when you come out of your introverted hiding place and ask your bodyguards if you can go out and play by yourself, I’m here Pimp!”

*Redman says he will Leave Def Jam for Shady Records…*

Redman has spoken on leaving Def Jam and possibly teaming up with Shady Records.

“Even like Shady, even to have that idea, or Eminem to even have that idea like thinking Redman was gonna be off Def Jam and he coming through is a privilege,” Redman said. “Like, I will leave right now and go over there to Shady. I don’t care, ’cause they still doing hip-hop and I love it. Anybody supporting it, I’m there. Big up to Shady though, but I ain’t off Def Jam yet, fuck. But I’m there though. I’m still rockin’. Come get me for a record though, let’s make it happen.” - Dog & Pony Show

It would be nice to Redman working with Shady Records, both Red and Em are creative artists…

*Ciara Comes Clean About Her Tall Past*

It’s always nice to know that celebrities are regular people like you and me. But since they’re more out there and making way more money than me, then it’s easy to think they don’t worry about the same things we do.

Beyoncé may have had weight problems, but Ciara’s challenge centered on being tall for her age. Case in point: the singer’s childhood as she admitted to being “insecure about being tall.”

“When I was younger, it seemed like all the cute girls in school were shorter,” the 5’8” songbird revealed to USA Today. “Now I love my height. It's like, ‘OK, girl – it's beautiful, embrace it, love it.’ It's all good.”

All good indeed. Especially now that Ciara has made another side of her self known with the debut of the sexy cartoon figure that’s found on album art for the singer’s latest album Fantasy Ride.

She is called Super C, “which is also my nickname,” said Ciara, who added that Super C should not be labeled as her alter ego. “She's my superhero character, and the superhero in all of us. She's the inner strength and drive that we need to overcome obstacles.”

*Irv Gotti Prepares for Life After Ashanti*

Known as the Princess of Hip Hop and R&B, Ashanti could do no wrong at the label formerly known as Murder Inc. But times have changed as Inc. head Irv Gotti revealed that Ashanti’s reign at the label is ending.

“The relationship has run its course,” he told MTV while stating that he and Ashanti are “in two totally different places.” “…My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up.”

“We don't really speak or talk or anything like that,” continued Gotti. “It's sad in a way. But in another, it's like it's all good.”

As one of the people responsible for Ashanti’s success, Gotti noted how Ashanti opted for a change regarding her latest release The Declaration. According to the music exec, the singer’s popularity stemmed from the energy created with working with others.

“I personally believe for her to be successful, it took the energy ... The music was great, but it was the energy that was created,” the VH1 reality show star said. “It wasn't just her standing there and singing a song.”

Overall, Gotti believes that it will be a challenge for Ashanti to regain the footing she once held without the longstanding support and tag-team effort in the studio.

“I don't think she can win. She needs some guidance with that. But she's not thinking like that,” Gotti said as he admitted that he doesn’t know what Ashanti is thinking now. “So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I'm gonna just drop her.”

Crazy. It’s funny how when the well runs dry so does the entire relationship. So Irv, Gott Milk?
